Holiday in Salzburger Land

The natives of the Salzburger Land regard their home as Austria’s most beautiful province – and they are not the only ones! The provincial capital of Salzburg, steeped in history and culture and stunningly beautiful, is surrounded by lakes, mountain pastures and picturesque villages that are just waiting to be explored. And your neat accommodation in Salzburger Land is right in the middle of it all!

Salzburg: city of Mozart

The Baroque city of Salzburg is inextricably linked to the name of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This is where you can retrace his steps, visiting the house of his birth in Getreidegasse and the Mozarteum University that was named in his honour. Baroque concerts take place here on a regular basis, and you can stock up on original “Mozartkugel” sweets in the Konditorei Fürst. Another great place to visit is the Mozart residence, the 8-room apartment where Mozart lived with his family for eight years and which today houses a museum. Salzburg is a true capital of culture and hosts a wealth of sights and attractions: the multi-coloured Baroque buildings, the majestic castle that overlooks the town, and no fewer than 20 museums are all waiting to be explored.

Pinzgau: a paradise for sport enthusiasts!

Follow nature’s call – from your holiday apartment in the Salzburger Land, the different regions of the Pinzgau are all within easy reach, inviting you to explore this unique natural setting. The Pinzgau is an attractive destination at any time of the year: in winter, there are plenty of opportunities for skiing, cross-country skiing or snowboarding. The extensive slopes of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski resort, the beautiful slopes of the Schmittenhöhe near Zell am See or the Wildkogel Arena are all ideal locations for winter sports. And what would a day’s skiing be without a proper après-ski session to bring it to a close?

In summer, Lake Zell is the perfect place to cool down on a hot day, with public beaches inviting guests to splash, sun-bathe and swim. If you want to try out something new, give stand-up paddling or water-skiing a go. The absolute highlight (in the true sense of the word) of any stay in the Pinzgau has to be a hiking tour in the mountains. From Schmittenhöhe mountain (1,965 metres), the panoramic views of the 3,000-metre summits in the region are stunning and include the Wilder Kaiser, Watzmann and Großglockner. Hikers may choose between several routes with varying levels of difficulty, leaving no room for excuses! The Maiskogel is particularly recommended for family hikes. Hop from chalet to chalet, even with a stroller!
