The downhill run through the entire ski resort measures 7.5 km. From the other side of the Glemmtal valley, you can also ski down to Viehhofen, on a run that takes you from Schmittenhöhe down to the valley. To get from Viehhofen to the ski resort, hop on the free ski bus. Saalbach Hinterglemm is a Ski World Championship location and offers everything you need for a successful skiing holiday.  270 km of pistes will leave you spoilt for choice. There is a piste for everyone – or you can head straight for one of the round tours of the Skicircus. Other ski resorts such as Schmittenhöhe, Zell am See/Kaprun or Kitzsteinhorn are also within easy reach. Viehhofen is a great starting place for hikes that take you to altitudes of 2,000 m and more. Make your way across lush mountain pastures to reach the summits of the surrounding mountains, passing plenty of wonderful resting places along the way where you can drink in the glorious views. Mountain chalets are also dotted around and offer the perfect opportunity for sampling the local delicacies. How about a “Bauernkrapfen” served with sauerkraut, or a platter of regional cheeses and sausages? A locally made stone-pine schnapps will put some fire in your belly and motivate you to tackle the next section of your route.

The mountain panorama around Viehhofen is not just ideal for family walking tours, but also harbours a fantastic network of cycling and mountain bike trails. A one-of-a-kind adventure is the Glemmy Offroad Park, located further down the valley towards Saalbach Hinterglemm. This is an off-road terrain for quads that spans no less than 60,000 m²! Hop on your quad and conquer this steep terrain with tight curves and mighty gradients – great fun for beginners and experienced quad bikers alike! Another highlight is the archery sports park next to the Glemmerhof inn. After a short introduction, this is your chance to make the forest your own with a bow and arrows!
